Mining and public works
Groupe CIF offers a comprehensive foundry and machining range, as well as related services for the manufacture of the major components of mills, crushers, kilns and dryers intended for the global mining industry.
AG, SAG and BALL mills
In mining, grinding is the main operation in the ore grinding process. This process uses autogenous and semi-autogenous mills and ball mills up to 30 MW.
Groupe CIF offers mechanical power transmission control units for horizontal mills.
Groupe CIF also studies, manufactures and installs transmission components between the main motor and the flange of the ball mill, including:
- The girth gear up to 16 metres in diameter,
- The pinion and its bearings,
- The mill head,
- The main gearbox up to 10 MW and its couplings,
- The inching drive,
- The white metal bearings.
Mining: Rotary kilns, dryers and sintering drums
Depending on the ore, different processes are used, for example:
- Pre-drying in kilns to reduce moisture in the ore.
- Calcination
- Sintering
- Direct reduced iron (DRI or pelletisation)

Groupe CIF also studies, manufactures and installs transmission components between the main motor and the rotating cylinder, including: the girth gear up to 16 metres in diameter, the pinion and its bearings, the main gearbox up to 2,000 kW and its couplings, as well as the inching drive, and even the white metal bearings.
Conveying
Groupe CIF supplies critical parts for hinges and suspension and chassis elements, the parts that are subjected to great stress in contact with the ore, etc. for the main companies worldwide in the Public Works/Mining sector. We offer innovative solutions through complex foundry parts enabling our customers to optimise their production cycle.
We also supply parts for the transport of materials with ERmaster and worm gears.
